Gianfranco Butera is the Head of Services and Security, USA & Canada. As an Officer of Enel North America, he oversees Asset and People Security along with Services delivery for USA & Canada. Additionally, he is responsible for relevant cross-functional projects for the same area.

Mr. Butera began his career with the Enel Group in 2001, joining as M&A Associate, where he was responsible for evaluating power plant sale opportunities in Northern Italy. In 2004 he joined Enel Union Fenosa Renovables S.A. in Spain as Administration & Finance Director while he was also serving as Chief Financial Officer for Iberia and East Europe from 2009 until 2010. In 2011, he was named Head of Finance of Enel Green Power where he took on various important corporate financial operations aiming at reshaping the Financial Debt of the EGP Group and powering the relations with Export Credit and Multilateral Agencies. In 2014, he was named Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Enel Green Power North America (EGP-NA), overseeing all activities of the Administration, Finance, Control and Tax Department.  In 2019, after the incorporation of Enel NA and the inclusion of the additional Enel X business, he was appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Enel North America (Enel-NA). Prior to joining the Enel Group, he worked in different Sales roles at Buzzi Unicem from 1994 until 1999 and as a Civil Engineering freelance consultant from 1991 until 1993.

He holds a master’s degree (magna cum laude) in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Torino, Italy, and an MBA from the SDA Bocconi School of Management of Milan, Italy, where he participated in the Johnson Graduate School of Management exchange program at Cornell University, NY.
