Andover, Mass., February 4, 2025 – Enel North America, a clean energy leader in the U.S. and Canada, and Meta (Nasdaq: META) announced a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 115-megawatt (MW) portion of the Rockhaven wind farm in Murray and Carter counties, Oklahoma.
“As power demand increases due to electrification, data centers and AI, with nearly 25 years of clean energy leadership, Enel is ready to meet this opportunity with a portfolio of clean power projects and demand response offerings,” said Stephen Pike, Head of Enel Green Power North America. “We’re excited to expand our partnership with Meta through our third PPA. Meta has exemplified how the technology sector can build an interconnected future powered by clean energy.”
The agreement at the 140 MW Rockhaven wind farm is the third power purchase agreement between the two companies. Enel has sold clean power to Meta from the Rattlesnake Creek wind farm in Nebraska—supporting the Sarpy Data Center—since 2018. Enel and Meta announced a power purchase agreement from the Alta Farms wind farm in Illinois in 2023 to support the DeKalb Data Center.
“We are thrilled to again partner with Enel to bring renewable energy to the grid,” said Urvi Parekh, Global Head of Energy, Meta. “These projects support our regional operations and data centers, as well as our goal to match our electric usage with 100% clean and renewable energy.”
Enel North America has executed over 100 PPAs representing over 7.3 GW of contracted capacity. Under its new three-year plan, the company will continue to meet rising corporate demand for renewable energy and delivering clean power from 11 GW of wind and solar assets. Enel also plans to continue to add new demand response capacity in the US and Canada, contributing to greater grid flexibility and reliability. North America remains one of the targeted geographies for new investment from the Enel Group.
